: (1) The Inspector General of Police may promote the following police personnel who perform excellent work on the recommendation of the policy making committee as per rule 193 to the vacant post up to one level up to the gazetted post except for unranked posts:-
(a) To the police personnel who work admirably, creatively and diligently to increase the value, reputation and pride of the nation and the police office they serve,
(b) To the police personnel who have made a special contribution in keeping the image of the nation and the police organization high by performing excellent work in various categories in the national and international fields, and
(c) To the police personnel who have achieved heroism in the course of performing their duties while in the police service or who are physically disabled while working and need to take time off from service.
(2) In the case of promotion according to sub-rule (1), the police head office shall give written details including the name, position, basis and justification of the promoted employee to the ministry within fifteen days of the promotion.
(3) No more than ten persons shall be promoted in accordance with sub-rule (1) in one financial year.
